Junior Business Analyst

The Business Systems Analyst oversees the analysis and development of Excel SoftSources’ Marketing Platform Solutions. The candidate should have a strong grasp of database architecture, data modeling, Interface development, and system integration using real-time web services. He or she should also have a solid understanding of database and email marketing concepts and can display insight and ability to apply technology to meet client marketing needs. In addition, the candidate should have strong communication (written and oral) skills and be able to collaborate with clients and our company's internal teams.

  • Make recommendations for solutions or improvements that can be achieved and attained through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
  • Analyse and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into software requirements.
  • Act as liaison between business stakeholders, such as management, customers, or end users, and the software development or information technology team.
  • Designing a system to meet the business objectives and goals.


  • Researching and proposing cost-effective technical solutions to address business challenges such as improvement of development, processes, and governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of customer workflows and business needs.
  • Deliver precise functional specifications to include functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design and definitions, outstanding issues, data analysis, and data mapping to clients and development staff.
  • Be responsible for direct interaction with clients including, but not limited to, eliciting comprehensive business requirements and use cases and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Gather requirements to design, build, and document specifications for development. Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements and collaborate with Architects and Developers to estimate project impact.
  • Work with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to communicate, verify, and test the desired functionality changes.
  • Work with the clients to demonstrate the changes to the system to ensure all relevant business needs are addressed.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication. Recommend and institute BSA best practices methodology and tools.
  • Perform QA of BSA team deliverables.
  • Providing guidance to the client service team on technical capabilities, staffing, and infrastructure needs. Proactively identify and address project risks.


Essential Skills & Experience (Qualifications):

  • Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, technical requirements, and UAT test plans.
  • Ability to understand and represent the needs of the end user in a software development environment.
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to acknowledge marketing and strategic needs to assess and recommend technical requirements.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Web-services experience with SOAP and RESTful APIs desired.
  • Experience with software implementation from requirement through design, development, and user acceptance.
  • Ability to scope and price projects and solutions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a technology-related field or relevant experience in implementing software.
